## Scope

Singapore. The code says any police officer may, without a warrant, arrest a person concerned in or reasonably suspected of an arrestable offence; that in making an arrest the police officer or other person must touch or confine the body of the person arrested unless they submit by word or action; that reasonable means may be used if they resist; and that the person must not be restrained more than necessary. Sections 75 and 76 carry no amendment annotation. It describes how an arrest is made and by whom; it says nothing about drones or robots at incidents.

## What this means

In Singapore, the arrest at the end of a response is in law something a person does with their hands.

## What it does not show yet

One country's procedure law; it covers arrest, not the rest of attending an incident.

## How to verify it yourself

Open the Criminal Procedure Code 2010 on Singapore Statutes Online, go to section 75, and find "must touch or confine the body of the person to be arrested".
