## Scope

Singapore's financial sector only, across retail, corporate, investment and private banking, wealth and asset management, and insurance. It is an expectation, not a measurement: the study examines likely adoption trends and the skills the workforce would need, and states plainly that it is difficult to predict with certainty how Gen AI will affect the workforce. Two of its specifics are what make it worth recording beside the US data. First, it expects about 80% of Singapore's potential value to come from four business functions — sales and marketing, customer operations, risk management, and engineering and technology — which is independent of, and largely agrees with, the US Census finding that adoption concentrates in sales and marketing and IT. Second, it classifies roles by whether they 'do more' or 'do more and do new' rather than by whether they survive. The analysis was contracted to a consultancy that sells AI transformation work, and the commissioning bodies have a stake in the sector remaining competitive; both belong beside the conclusion.

## What this means

A financial regulator, a skills body and a workforce agency put their names to a five-year expectation about a whole sector's jobs, in public, with the analysis and the per-role breakdown attached. That is unusual and it is checkable, which is why it is recorded rather than summarised: in 2030 anyone can hold this document up against what actually happened. Two things in it are useful now. It expects roughly 80% of the value to come from four functions — sales and marketing first among them — and it sorts roles by whether they do more or do more and do new, never by whether they survive.

## What it does not show yet

A forecast is not an observation, and this site never lets one move a task's assessment no matter who signs it. Nothing here reports an adoption that happened, a headcount that changed or a task that moved; the document is about what the commissioning bodies expect and what skills they think the workforce should acquire. It also covers one sector in one city-state, and the sector it covers is the one Singapore most wants to keep competitive — an expectation published by parties with an interest in the outcome is still an expectation.

## How to verify it yourself

Open the appendix and find your own role in it — it lists the critical work functions and the key tasks the study thinks Gen AI touches, one page per role. Then mark which of those tasks you actually spend time on. Where the two lists disagree is the part of this forecast that does not apply to you, and it is worth being able to say so out loud in a review.
