## Scope

England and Wales. The regulator's release says it authorised a firm offering businesses an AI-powered litigation assistant that guides them through the small claims court process up to trial to recover unpaid debts; that the system is not autonomous and takes a step only where the client has approved it, with supervision and monitoring in place; and that named regulated solicitors remain accountable and responsible for all the system's outputs. One firm and one narrow kind of matter; no volumes.

## What this means

For simple debt claims in England, running the matter through the court steps can now be done by an authorised AI service, with a solicitor answerable for it.

## What it does not show yet

One firm, small-claims debt only; it does not show what happened to paralegal work elsewhere.

## How to verify it yourself

Open the SRA release 'SRA approves first AI-driven law firm' and find "will only take a step where the client has approved it".
