## Scope

United Kingdom, central government. The AQuA Book, which says it is for anyone carrying out analysis including data scientists and that it now covers machine learning, AI and black-box systems, says each role may be filled by a team but a single individual has overall accountability for it; that the analyst shall follow governance procedures for delivery and sign-off and describe any limitations to using the analysis; and that the roles of analyst and assurer shall be distinct. It is government guidance, not law, and most of its role duties are written as 'should'; it covers government analysts in general, not data scientists alone.

## What this means

In UK government, presenting an analysis together with its limits stays the accountable analyst's job, whatever tools produced it.

## What it does not show yet

Guidance rather than law, mostly worded as 'should', and written for all government analysts.

## How to verify it yourself

Open The AQuA Book on GOV.UK and find "describe any limitations to using the analysis".
