## Scope

Singapore. The Act defines a survey as determining the form, position, area, height or other particulars of the earth's surface, including making or obtaining any plan from it, and survey work as any work that is part of or related to a survey; it says a person must not perform any survey or engage in survey work unless they are a registered surveyor with a practising certificate, an authorised surveyor, or working under the direction or supervision of one. Section 10 as amended with effect from 1 October 2025. Supervised technicians and tools are allowed.

## What this means

In Singapore, turning survey data into plans is legally survey work, done by or under a registered surveyor.

## What it does not show yet

One country; supervision allows software and technicians to do much of the processing.

## How to verify it yourself

Open the Land Surveyors Act 1991 on Singapore Statutes Online, go to section 10, and find "must not perform or execute any survey or engage in any survey work".
