## Scope

EU27, reference year 2025. The denominator is enterprises using at least one AI technology — themselves 19.95% of enterprises with 10 or more employees — so 6.08% of AI users is about 1.21% of all enterprises, roughly one in eighty. It is the lowest of the seven purposes the dataset publishes for 2025: marketing or sales 34.7%, business administration 31.04%, accounting, controlling or finance 23.11%, production processes 20.76%, ICT security 19.77%, R&D or innovation 19.05%. Even at enterprises with 250 or more employees logistics reaches 14.95%, against 47.51% for ICT security. 'Logistics' is the survey's category for the enterprise as a whole, not a measurement of one coordinator's work, and the survey cannot see whether a tool replaced a step or sat beside it.

## What this means

Across the EU, applying AI to logistics is still uncommon: about one enterprise in eighty, and roughly one in seven even among those with 250 or more employees. This page judges turning an order into a real thing happening to be automating; this figure is the ceiling that judgement currently sits under.

## What it does not show yet

It does not show the direction of this task reversing. A purpose-level survey counts whether a firm applies AI to logistics at all, not how much of a coordinator's booking sequence a tool now performs — a firm can answer yes on the strength of one route-planning tool. It also does not say why the share is low: the survey cannot separate the tools not working here from nobody having got to it yet.

## How to verify it yourself

Ask whoever owns your order-booking system which steps a tool now completes end to end with nobody confirming in between. If the answer is none, your workplace is with the large majority of EU enterprises.
