Through select partnerships with publishers, Audible says it is bringing new audiobooks to life with its own fully integrated, end-to-end AI production technology; in the coming months publishers will choose between Audible-managed production and self-service production with the same technology, and pick from more than 100 AI-generated voices across English, Spanish, French and Italian. It also announces AI translation in beta later in 2025, including speech-to-speech translation that preserves the original narrator's voice. It is the company describing its own service: it gives no number of titles, publishers or narrators affected, and it says the company continues to invest in premium original content. It establishes that a producer that hires narrators is offering AI narration at scale, not how many audiobooks are now narrated by AI.
