Where this applies
Japan's second-largest life insurer describing its own sales force in its annual disclosure. It says that from April 2026 it introduced an accompanying AI assistant called Digital Buddy to support its sales representatives (生涯設計デザイナー), recording conversations with clients and advising the next action, built on an integrated customer database; and that benefit and claim procedures can be completed either on the web or on the sales terminal the representative uses. It gives no figures on use or effect, and it is the company's own account.
What this means
At a large Japanese insurer the agent now works alongside an AI that remembers each conversation and suggests what to do next, and a client's claim can be filed on the agent's own device. The follow-up and the help with a claim become faster; the relationship stays with the agent.
What it does not yet show
One insurer's description without figures; it does not show how much agents use the assistant or what it changes.
What you can check
Open Dai-ichi Life's Annual Report 2026 and find "伴走支援型AI「デジタルバディ」".
Does it change the assessment?
No. The impact index is never moved by a single event. Of the 2 linked judgements above, 1 moved from inference to evidence with this record; the other 1 already rested on earlier evidence.
