It shows 1,039.5 thousand employees in November 2022 and 1,157.1 thousand in July 2026 (preliminary), a rise of about 11%, with the latest month the highest since the series view begins in 2016. It counts all jobs at these firms, office staff included, and leaves out self-employed electricians; it does not say why employment rose.
What this means
While machines take over routine work elsewhere, the firms that wire buildings have kept adding people since late 2022. Nothing in the data points to installation work moving to machines.
