Tasks this bears on
The record and the handover
Charting what was done and what was observed, and telling the next shift what they need to know in the four minutes before they take over.
Automating✓ Evidence-backed
Being the person who is there
Talking, listening, being known — for many people receiving care this is the majority of their human contact in a day.

Where this applies
Japan's national survey of care work, run by a foundation under the labour ministry, with 8,978 providers answering the technology questions. It reports that 75.4% of providers use computer care software with functions to enter, store and transcribe care records and care plans; that voice-to-text functions are used by 9.6% on computers and 13.0% on tablets or phones; that care robots that hold two-way conversations with residents are used by 0.3% of providers overall and 1.1% of residential homes; and that every type of care robot is used by fewer than 10%, the most common being bathing support at 8.4%. The figures are what providers report, not measured time.
What this means
In Japan the record has largely moved into software, and voice-to-text is starting to write it; the company part of the job has not moved at all — robots that talk with residents are in fewer than one provider in a hundred.
What it does not yet show
Provider self-reports for one country; it shows what is in use, not how much time the record takes or whether residents' contact with staff changed.
What you can check
Open 介護労働安定センター's 令和6年度「介護労働実態調査」結果の概要 and find 「全体で 75.4%」.
Does it change the assessment?
No. The impact index is never moved by a single event. Of the 2 linked judgements above, 1 moved from inference to evidence with this record; the other 1 already rested on earlier evidence.
