Where this applies
European Union. Article 10 requires natural persons to be certified to carry out installation, maintenance or servicing, repair or decommissioning of listed equipment, and leak checks; Article 5 sets leak-check intervals that lengthen where a leakage detection system is installed, for example from at least every 12 months to at least every 24 months for smaller equipment. It binds people and equipment operators, not software.
What this means
In the EU too, the hands on refrigerant equipment must belong to certified people, while detection systems thin out the checks.
