Evidence stage
CapabilityA demo, benchmark or paper shows the task can be done. Updates what the technology can do — not what employers will do.
Tasks this bears on
Making coffee and drinks
Pulling espresso, steaming milk, mixing cocktails and pouring beer and wine to a consistent standard.
Automating≈ Platform inference
Hospitality and conversation
Welcoming people, recommending drinks, remembering regulars and keeping the room pleasant.
Still human-led≈ Platform inference
Where this applies
A peer-reviewed study of 300 customers who had visited a robot barista coffee shop in South Korea in the previous three months, drawn from four chains identified as the most used — Café AI, Dalkomm B;eat, Lounge'X and Coffee Methodx. It found atmosphere, novelty and consumer return on investment shaped satisfaction and intention to return. It shows that robot coffee shops operate commercially; it does not measure how many drinks they make or their effect on barista jobs.
What this means
Robot coffee shops run commercially in one country, and customers go partly for the novelty.
What it does not yet show
A customer survey in one country; it says nothing about baristas' jobs or how widespread these shops are.
What you can check
Open the Service Business study (doi 10.1007/s11628-021-00467-4) and find "300 customers who had visited a RBCS".
Does it change the assessment?
No — and this stage does not move it either. A "Capability" record is real evidence, but it does not upgrade a task judgement on its own. The 2 linked judgements above stand where they were.
