Evidence stage
DeploymentAn employer has put it into production. Can move the baseline — weighted by scale and how similar the setting is.
Tasks this bears on
Framing and structural carpentry
Building the timber frame of a building: walls, floors and roofs, to plan and to level.
Being augmented✓ Evidence-backed
Cutting joints and joinery
Marking and cutting joints, timbers and joinery so that parts fit together.
Automating✓ Evidence-backed
Where this applies
Japan. The Forestry Agency's white paper says precut timber has its joints and connections cut in advance to set shapes so that post-and-beam houses can be built easily on site, and that the precut processing rate in the post-and-beam method reached 94 percent in 2024; the figure is footnoted to the national precut machinery association. It measures how joints are cut, not how many carpenters work on site.
What this means
In Japan, cutting the joints of a timber frame is now almost entirely a factory job.
What it does not yet show
One construction method in one country; the figure originates with an industry association.
What you can check
Open chapter III of the Forestry Agency's FY2025 white paper (published 2 June 2026) and find "プレカット加工率は94%に達している".
Does it change the assessment?
No. The impact index is never moved by a single event. Nor did this record change a layer: all 2 linked judgements above already rested on earlier evidence. This one adds to them.
