DeploymentAn employer has put it into production. Can move the baseline — weighted by scale and how similar the setting is.
Tasks this bears on
Setting out construction
Marking on site where structures, roads and earthworks go, so that crews and machines build to the design.
Automating✓ Evidence-backed
Where this applies
Japan. The ministry's status report says that from fiscal 2025 ICT construction became the default for earthworks and dredging, used on more than 90 percent of tenders for its directly managed civil works, cutting working time on ICT earthworks by about 30 percent; among its effects it lists fewer survey stakes, with machines guided by 3D design data. The time savings are averages from a contractor survey against contractors' estimates of conventional work; small works still face barriers.
What this means
On large public earthworks in Japan, machines now follow the 3D design instead of stakes set by surveyors.
What it does not yet show
One country's public works; time savings are self-reported by contractors.
What you can check
Open the MLIT ICT council material of 23 June 2026 (資料-1) and find "丁張作業の削減".
Does it change the assessment?
No. The impact index is never moved by a single event. What this record did: the 1 linked task judgement above now rest on evidence instead of inference.
