Where this applies
Singapore. The Act says a person must not practise or act as an advocate and solicitor unless their name is on the roll and they hold a practising certificate, and that an unauthorised person who acts as an advocate or solicitor or as an agent for any party to proceedings commits an offence punishable by a fine of up to $25,000, imprisonment of up to 6 months, or both. Section 32 as amended with effect from 17 July 2024. Litigants in person, arbitration and mediation are handled separately; it says nothing about the tools behind an advocate.
What this means
In Singapore, standing up for a client in court is reserved, under criminal penalty, for a licensed lawyer.
What it does not yet show
One country's licensing law; it reserves the role, not the preparation behind it.
What you can check
Open the Legal Profession Act 1966 on Singapore Statutes Online, go to section 32, and find "a person must not practise as an advocate and solicitor".
Does it change the assessment?
No. The impact index is never moved by a single event. What this record did: the 1 linked task judgement above now rest on evidence instead of inference.
